How do you deal with people around you brining up religion?

I find it that, it’s always people around me who bring up religion. I never talk about it and disconnect myself from it. Is it because I still have my Muslim name? Or what smh.

Even at work, amongst coworkers I never for once will bring up religion and would avoid it when coworkers are talking about it. One of them asked am I Muslim and I said “my family is but I am not religious,” nothing much happened after that we continue to talk about all kinds of things and we get a long but as soon as Ramadan started they ask me if I am fasting, I didn’t know what to say so I said “yes” even though I am trying avoid you know the discussion etc. never for once have I opened my mouth and said I am Muslim people just assume. also I am west African and this may also be why. I never ask people “did you pray” or anything but I always find it that people will ask me, Islamic stuff. I get it, it may be a good thing to help people with religion and collect your “blessings”. (This sounds like a rant at this point😂)

It’s really hard to just say “NO” because I don’t want those questions why are aren’t you Muslim bla bla bla.
